Is Korres Worth It? My Honest Korres Cosmetics Review After 6 Months of Daily Use
Last summer, I spent some time in Greece, and like many beauty lovers visiting a new country, I ended up exploring the local skincare brands. That’s how I discovered Korres.

What started as a few small purchases quickly turned into a full-blown shopping moment. By the time I left Greece, I had spent over €200 on Korres products, mostly body lotions, shower gels, and hair care.
I’ve now been using these products for about six months, which feels like enough time to form a real opinion about them. Some became everyday staples in my routine, while others surprised me in ways I didn’t expect.
In this Korres cosmetics review, I’ll share my honest experience after months of use, focusing mainly on their body care, shampoos, shower gels, and one face cleanser I tried along the way.
Korres Cosmetics Background
Korres is a Greek beauty brand that was founded in Athens in 1996 by pharmacist Giorgos Korres and chemical engineer Lena Korres.
The brand actually grew out of one of the oldest homeopathic pharmacies in Athens, where natural remedies and herbal formulas were part of everyday practice.
From the beginning, the idea behind Korres was simple: combine natural ingredients with scientific research.
Many of their formulas are inspired by traditional Greek herbal remedies and ingredients found in Greek flora, such as wild rose, Greek yogurt, olive oil, and various mountain herbs.
The company focuses heavily on plant-based ingredients and works with local Greek farmers to source botanicals. At the same time, the formulas are developed with modern cosmetic science to ensure the products are both natural and effective.
Today, Korres has grown into one of the best-known Greek skincare brands worldwide, offering hundreds of products across skincare, body care, and hair care categories.
My Korres Shopping Haul From Greece

When I visited Greece last summer, I ended up spending quite a bit of time browsing local pharmacies.
At first, I only planned to pick up a couple of products to try, but that plan didn’t last very long. Korres products are everywhere in Greece, and once I started smelling the shower gels and testing the body lotions, it was hard to stop.
By the end of the trip, I had bought a full lineup of Korres products to bring home. Most of them fall into the categories the brand is really known for: body care and hair care.
Here’s what I picked up:
- Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser
- Korres Lilac Body Ritual set (body cleanser + body milk)
- Korres Pure Greek Olive Sea Salt Body Ritual set
- Korres Renewing Body Cleanser Coconut Water
- Korres Shampoos (including the Castor Oil Hair Loss Shampoo)
I’ve been using these products for around six to seven months now, which gave me plenty of time to see how they actually perform in daily use.
Korres Shower Gels Review
One category where Korres really impressed me is their shower gels.
These are probably some of the most well-known products from the brand, and after using several of them for months, I can understand why.
The formulas are gentle, the scents are interesting without being overwhelming, and the foaming is surprisingly good. A little product goes a long way.
Most Korres shower gels are made with a gel formula that creates a rich foam while still feeling gentle on the skin.
They’re designed to cleanse without leaving your skin dry, which is something I always pay attention to when trying new body washes.
Here are the ones I tried.
Coconut Water Renewing Body Cleanser Review

I’m often on the fence when buying coconut-scented shower gels because the scent can easily become too strong or overly sweet. That’s not the case here.
The coconut scent is noticeable, but it stays subtle enough that it never feels overpowering. It smells clean and slightly tropical without being heavy.
The best part of this body cleanser is the foaming. I only use a small amount and it creates a lot of lather.
Because of that, I sometimes even use it when shaving. I don’t need a separate shaving foam since this cleanser works really well for that too.
Overall, this one feels gentle on the skin and leaves it clean without that tight or dry feeling some shower gels can cause.
Lilac Renewing Body Cleanser Review

This one might actually be my favorite scent out of the three.
Lilac is one of my favorite flowers, and it’s surprisingly hard to find beauty products that actually capture that scent well. Many brands try, but it often ends up smelling artificial.
Korres did a really good job here. The fragrance really does remind me of lilacs in bloom. It’s floral but still light and natural.
The formula itself is very similar to the coconut version. It’s gentle on the skin and produces a good amount of foam without needing a lot of product. It rinses clean and leaves a soft scent on the skin that isn’t overwhelming.
If you enjoy floral body care products, this is definitely a nice one to try.
Pure Greek Olive Sea Salt Shower Gel Review

At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an olive-scented shower gel. It sounded unusual and I wasn’t convinced I would like it.
But after using it for a while, I actually ended up enjoying the scent quite a bit. It has a fresh, slightly herbal smell that reminds me of the Mediterranean.
This one feels especially nice during the summer months because the scent is light and clean. Just like the other two, the formula foams well and leaves my skin feeling comfortable after showering.
I also didn’t notice any dryness or irritation while using it regularly.
My Overall Thoughts on Korres Shower Gels
After using these for months, I can honestly say that Korres shower gels are some of the better body cleansers I’ve tried.
What stood out to me most:
- The scents are noticeable but not overpowering
- The gel formula creates a lot of foam with very little product
- They feel gentle and don’t dry out my skin
- The fragrances are unique compared to many typical body washes
If you enjoy shower gels that smell good but still feel light and natural, Korres does a really nice job in this category.
Korres Body Lotions Review
I also picked up two Korres body lotions as part of the body ritual sets I bought in Greece.
Both come in the brand’s body milk formula, which is lighter than a thick body cream but still moisturizing enough for everyday use.
In general, Korres body milks are made with ingredients like almond oil, aloe, and provitamin B5, which help soften the skin and support hydration while keeping the texture lightweight.
Since I have very dry skin, especially during the winter months, I pay a lot of attention to how well body lotions actually moisturize.
Here’s how these two worked for me.
Lilac Body Milk Review

As I mentioned earlier, the lilac scent in this line is one of my favorites. It has a delicate floral fragrance that really does remind me of lilacs in bloom. It’s light and natural rather than overly perfumed.
The lotion itself has a silky texture that spreads easily and absorbs quickly into the skin.
Korres body milks usually contain nourishing ingredients like almond oil, aloe vera, and provitamin B5, which help keep the skin soft and hydrated throughout the day.
That said, because my skin gets extremely dry during the winter, I would probably reach for something a bit richer during the colder months.
For me, this lotion works better from spring through early fall when my skin doesn’t need such heavy hydration. It feels comfortable, smells amazing, and gives my skin a nice smooth finish without feeling greasy.
Pure Greek Olive & Sea Salt Body Cream Review

The olive and sea salt version surprised me a bit.
At first I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the scent because olive-based skincare can sometimes smell a little unusual. But after using it for a while, I actually started to enjoy it.
The fragrance reminds me a bit of the Mediterranean — clean, slightly herbal, and fresh.
This one also feels slightly more nourishing than the lilac version. It contains pure Greek olive oil, which is naturally rich in vitamins and antioxidants that help nourish and hydrate the skin.
Because of that, I would probably choose this lotion during the colder months, when my skin needs a bit more moisture.
My Overall Thoughts on Korres Body Lotions
Overall, I’ve had a good experience with Korres body lotions.
What I like about them:
- The textures are lightweight and absorb quickly
- The scents feel natural rather than overpowering
- They contain plant-based ingredients like almond oil, aloe, and olive oil
- They work well for everyday use
For someone with very dry winter skin like mine, they might not replace a very heavy body butter. But for daily moisturizing and especially during the warmer months, they work really well.
Korres Shampoo Review
I also tried two Korres shampoos, and I had very different experiences with them.
Since hair products can behave very differently depending on your hair type, I want to share exactly how they worked for me.
For context, I have very thick, coarse hair, and it tends to tangle easily. I also experienced noticeable hair shedding last year after losing a significant amount of weight, and I was hoping one of these shampoos might help.
Castor Oil Hair Loss Shampoo Review

This was the shampoo I had the highest hopes for.
Korres often has promotions where you can buy one product and get the second one at a discount, so I ended up buying two bottles of the Castor Oil Hair Loss Shampoo.
I used both of them completely, which gave me enough time to see how it actually performs. Unfortunately, I’m not entirely convinced it helped with my hair loss.
I was dealing with quite a bit of shedding last year. Part of it was likely related to rapid weight loss, and part of it tends to happen every year when the seasons change, especially from summer into fall.
My hair was falling out a lot during that period, so I was hoping this shampoo might slow that down.
Toward the end of the second bottle, I did notice that the shedding became less intense. However, I honestly think that had more to do with my body adjusting to the weight loss and the seasonal hair shedding calming down rather than the shampoo itself.
Another issue for me was how this shampoo worked with my hair texture.
Since my hair is thick and coarse, it tangles easily. With this shampoo, I absolutely had to follow up with a conditioner. If I tried to brush my hair after washing it without using conditioner, it was almost impossible to get through the knots.
Because of that, I don’t think this shampoo is the best option for very thick, coarse, or wavy hair types, at least based on my experience.
That being said, the formula itself is designed with ingredients like castor oil and plant-based proteins, which are meant to support scalp health and strengthen the hair.
So while it didn’t work particularly well for my hair type, someone with finer or straighter hair might have a different experience.
Coconut Water Hydrating Shampoo Review

As I mentioned earlier, my hair tends to be very dry, so hydrating formulas usually work best for me.
The Coconut Water Hydrating Shampoo was a pleasant surprise. After washing my hair with it, my hair felt noticeably softer and smoother.
One of the first things I noticed was that my hair didn’t tangle nearly as much compared to when I used the Castor Oil Hair Loss Shampoo.
With that one, brushing through my hair after washing was almost impossible without conditioner. With the coconut shampoo, the situation was definitely better.
I still use a conditioner afterward because my hair is thick and coarse, and that extra step always helps with detangling. But overall, this shampoo leaves my hair feeling much more manageable and hydrated.
The formula itself is designed to focus on moisture, with ingredients like coconut water and plant-based proteins that help support hydration and softness. Based on my experience, that hydrating effect is noticeable.
For my hair type, this one worked significantly better than the hair loss shampoo, and it’s the Korres shampoo I would repurchase.
Korres Aloe and Dittany Hair Conditioner Review

This is the conditioner I used with the Korres shampoos, and overall I really liked it.
My hair is very thick and coarse, so detangling is always a challenge after washing it. This conditioner helped a lot with that.
It made a noticeable difference, especially when I used it after the Castor Oil Hair Loss Shampoo, which left my hair quite tangled. With the conditioner, I was able to brush through my hair much more easily.
One thing I appreciated is that you only need to leave it on for about one minute after shampooing. That’s a big plus for me.
I get really annoyed when conditioners require five minutes or more while you’re just standing there in the shower. One minute is quick and convenient.
The packaging is also fairly large at 200 ml, and the tube lasted around three to four months with regular use.
The formula includes ingredients like aloe and dittany, which are traditionally used in Greek herbal care and are meant to help soften and condition the hair.
It definitely helped make my hair more manageable and easier to comb through.
Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser Review

The last product I tried from my Korres haul is the Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser.
Korres’ Greek Yoghurt line is actually one of the brand’s most well-known collections. The Greek Yoghurt moisturizer is extremely popular, so I was curious to try the cleanser from the same line.
Overall, I liked it. The texture is creamy and it creates a light foam when mixed with water. It doesn’t produce a huge amount of foam like some gel cleansers, but it foams enough to feel like it’s properly cleansing the skin.
After washing my face with it, my skin felt clean without feeling tight or dry, which is something I always pay attention to with face cleansers.
My skin is breakout-prone, so I’m always careful when testing new skincare products. I used this cleanser regularly and didn’t experience any breakouts or irritation, which is definitely a good sign.
The formula is built around Greek yoghurt, which Korres uses for its soothing and nourishing properties, along with ingredients meant to support the skin barrier and help maintain moisture.
Overall, I found it to be a solid everyday cleanser that cleans the skin well while still feeling gentle.
Korres Price and Value
One thing I noticed right away when buying Korres products in Greece is that they’re quite reasonably priced, especially compared to many international skincare brands.
Korres doesn’t usually have standalone stores in most places, but you can find the products in pharmacies all over Greece, which makes them very easy to buy.
Pro tip: If you’re visiting Greece and planning to buy Korres products, one small tip from my experience: wait until you get to Athens if possible.
I noticed that the prices on some Greek islands were higher. Once I got to Athens, the same products were noticeably cheaper and much easier to find.
From what I remember paying, the prices were roughly in this range:
- Shampoos: around €8–€10 each
- Shower gels: usually around €9–€12
- Body lotions/body milk: around €12–€16
- Face cleansers: usually around €16–€18
Note: You can find bundles in most pharmacies, where the second product is priced at 50% off, so you can get two shampoos or shower gels for around €16.50.
Korres pharmacies also often run promotions like buy one product and get the second one 50% off, which is how I ended up buying two of the castor oil shampoos.
Overall, I wouldn’t consider Korres an expensive brand. The prices feel very reasonable for products that use plant-based ingredients and are made in Greece, especially when you compare them with many international skincare brands.
Is Korres Worth It? My Final Thoughts
Overall, I had a very positive experience. The products feel well made, the ingredients are inspired by natural Greek botanicals, and the scents are pleasant without being overwhelming.
I also like that most products are gentle and didn’t irritate my skin or scalp.
Some products worked better for me than others. I really liked the Coconut Water Hydrating Shampoo, the Korres shower gels, and the hair conditioner, which made my thick hair much easier to manage.
The body lotions were nice as well, although for very dry winter skin I might reach for something slightly richer.
The Castor Oil Hair Loss Shampoo, however, didn’t make a noticeable difference for my hair shedding.
What I appreciate most about Korres is that the products feel high quality while still being reasonably priced, especially if you buy them in Greece.
Overall, I think Korres is a brand worth trying, particularly if you enjoy body care products with natural-inspired ingredients and unique scents.
